In An Emergency

For clarity: An emergency is something that could not have been foreseen and for the avoidance of doubt, we would define an emergency as a serious maintenance matter that endangers ones health or safety.

As an example, we have compiled a list of emergencies that may include but are not limited to:
  • Severe leaks - for concerns over a water leak on the mains water please contact Affinity Water initially on 0845 888 5888 (If you have an internal water leak, please try to locate your stopcock and then our plumber on his emergency contact number)
  • If you smell gas, immediately call National Grid on 0800 111 999
  • Loss of electrical power or light - In the event of a power cut call UK Power Networks 0800 783 8838 (or 0333 202 2021 from a mobile phone) or contact our electrician Rhys on his emergency number
  • Blockage of your only toilet (Please contact our plumber on his emergency contact number)
  • Loss of heating or hot water (Please contact our plumber on his emergency contact number)
  • Broken windows or doors following a break-in (Please ensure in the event of a break in that you contact the police initially)
  • If your landlord has a Home Care agreement, please contact the company providing this. The most common providers are:
    British Gas: 0800 107798 / Home serve: 0330 123 0179

If you have an emergency when our office is closed, please ensure that you are experiencing a true emergency and that the issue cannot be resolved during our offices opening hours as if a contractor is called out as an emergency when a repair is not justified, you will be liable for all costs. Once again, for the avoidance of doubt we would define an emergency as serious maintenance matters that endanger health or safety.
